Noida and Greater Noida woke up to a sudden weather shift on Friday morning, with dust storms, strong winds, and cloudy skies replacing the recent hot and dry conditions across Delhi-NCR. Multiple reports citing the India Meteorological Department said Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and nearby NCR areas are under a Yellow Alert as the weather remains unstable into the weekend.

What is confirmed right now

Dust storms and strong winds were already being reported across parts of Noida and Greater Noida on Friday morning. Forecasts cited by major publications say the current spell may bring gusty winds in the 40 to 70 km/h range, along with a chance of light rain and thunderstorms later in the day.

Thursday had been unusually warm, with Delhi recording a maximum of 36.8°C before conditions changed sharply overnight. That shift is part of why weather-related searches rose suddenly this morning.

What is forecast for later today and Saturday

Forecasts currently point to one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in Noida later on Friday and again on Saturday. Reports also suggest the weekend may bring some temperature relief, with Noida expected to stay closer to the low-30s after Thursday’s hotter conditions.

The IMD’s Delhi-NCR weather portal also shows forecast coverage for Gautam Budh Nagar as part of its regional display for April 3 to April 7.

What residents should keep in mind

Residents commuting through Noida, Greater Noida, or the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway belt should stay alert to dusty stretches, sudden wind bursts, and changing visibility. If rain and thunderstorms develop later in the day, outdoor plans may need adjusting.
