Three days off, a few friends available, and a group chat still deciding what to do?
If Gandhi Jayanti gives you Friday off, the October 2–4, 2026 long weekend offers choices for an anime outing, live music, a picnic date, a museum visit or an evening of food close to home.
Whether you are in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida or Gurugram, start with how far you want to travel and what you want to spend. Here are seven plans for teens, young adults, couples and solo visitors, with the experience, cost and contact details to help you choose.
1. Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!!: An outing for your anime friends
Why go: A shared-interest plan for anime fans, teen friend groups and couples who enjoy Japanese culture.
What you can experience: The announced programme includes anime, cosplay, live performances, Japanese food and film screenings. Pick an activity you want to catch, then leave time to explore.
Where and when: Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, New Delhi, on October 3 and 4. Listed hours are 11 AM–10 PM on Saturday and 11 AM–8 PM on Sunday.
How to plan: Check the programme before travelling. Some screenings and activities require separate tickets or advance registration.
Cost: Free general admission. Separately ticketed programmes, food and merchandise cost extra. Agree on a spending limit before browsing stalls.
Check each screening’s age requirement before booking. Ghost in the Shell and Perfect Blue screenings are restricted to viewers aged 18 and over, with valid age ID required.
Contact: MMAJ Secretariat: contact@mmaj.jp. See the official festival FAQ.
2. The Grub Fest: Food and live music in one outing
Why go: For young adult friends and couples who want to make a larger outing of the weekend.
What you can experience: Browse food stalls and attend the announced music programme. Gurinder Gill is announced for Saturday and Rabbi Shergill for Sunday, so choose your day around the performance you want to see.
Where and when: NSIC Estate, Okhla, New Delhi, on October 3 and 4, with an announced 1 PM event start on both days.
How to plan: Check your selected date and pass conditions through SkillBox. The organiser identifies Okhla NSIC on the Magenta Line as the nearest Metro station. Confirm gate-opening and last-entry arrangements. If booking for someone under 18, confirm admission eligibility with the organiser first.
Cost: Paid admission. The organiser’s published Phase 1 reference price is ₹999 per person per day, before possible taxes and booking fees. This is a published reference, rather than a confirmed live checkout price. Food and travel cost extra.
Contact: info@thegrubfest.com. The organiser also lists Instagram @thegrubfest for enquiries. Booking issues should go through SkillBox support.
3. Raahgiri at Connaught Place: An active Sunday morning
Why go: For teens, friends and couples who would enjoy an early outing followed by breakfast.
What you can experience: Cycling, fitness, music and public activities are announced, with the Inner Circle becoming car-free during the programme. Euphoria is also announced to perform.
Where and when: Connaught Place Inner Circle, Sunday, October 4, from 7 AM to 10 AM.
How to plan: Check your early transport connection, wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Ask about arrangements if you want to join cycling; do not assume bicycles will be supplied.
Cost: No ticket price is stated in the checked announcement. Confirm any registration or participation requirements. Keep transport and breakfast in your budget.
Contact: Raahgiri Foundation’s general enquiries: +91 8826865797 or info@raahgirifoundation.org. See NDMC’s event announcement.
4. Sunder Nursery: A picnic date or a morning with friends
Why go: For young couples wanting time to talk, friends planning a relaxed catch-up or anyone taking a book out for the morning.
What you can experience: Walk through gardens and heritage spaces, share a simple picnic and take photographs. Picnics are permitted provided visitors leave no litter.
Where: Sunder Nursery, near Humayun’s Tomb, Nizamuddin, New Delhi. Its visitor page says it opens every day of the year, subject to special notices.
How to plan: Choose a morning visit and check current opening arrangements. Bring water and picnic food. Allow for the last stretch from your Metro station by auto or cab.
Cost: ₹50 entry per Indian adult, or ₹100 for two adults. Transport, parking and food purchases are additional expenses.
Contact: 011-40700700 or info@sundernursery.org. Check Sunder Nursery’s visitor information.
5. Dilli Haat INA: Browse, talk and choose a meal together
Why go: For couples who enjoy exploring together and friend groups with different food preferences.
What you can experience: Browse handicrafts and textiles, explore regional food options and choose a meal together. You can keep the outing to browsing and eating without buying souvenirs.
Where and when: Dilli Haat INA, Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi. Delhi Tourism lists daily hours of 11 AM–8 PM.
How to plan: INA Metro station is listed as the nearest station. Entry tickets are available at the gate. Decide whether your budget is mainly for food, shopping or both.
Cost: Paid gate entry; confirm the current charge. Food and shopping are extra.
Contact: 011-26119055, 011-24678817 or 011-20862240. Call to confirm the gate charge and holiday arrangements, or check Delhi Tourism’s visitor listing.
6. Museo Camera: An indoor outing for curious minds
Why go: For photography-curious teens, design students and couples interested in cameras and visual storytelling.
What you can experience: Explore historic cameras, photographic equipment and galleries tracing the evolution of photography. Take time to look at how cameras and image-making have changed.
Where and when: Shri Ganesh Mandir Marg, DLF Phase IV, Sector 28, Gurugram. Published hours are 11 AM–7 PM, with Mondays closed. Use Saturday or Sunday for this weekend plan.
How to plan: Tickets can be purchased at the museum. Make it your main destination and leave time for the journey, especially if you are coming from the other side of NCR.
Cost: ₹200 per Indian national, or ₹400 for two admissions. An optional audio guide costs ₹150 per person, bringing admission and an audio guide to ₹350 each. Food and travel are separate.
Contact: +91 9810752279 or contact@museocamera.org. Check Museo Camera’s visitor details.
7. Noida food walk: A short evening with your favourite people
Why go: For teen friend groups, casual dates and anyone who wants a shorter outing close to home.
What you can experience: Browse food counters, choose a few things to eat together and catch up without committing to a full-day plan.
Where: Brahmaputra Market in Sector 29, or the Atta Market and Sector 18 area. Choose one area rather than trying to cover all three in an evening.
How to plan: Agree on a meeting point and a spending limit. Browse before ordering and check individual outlet hours. PON’s Noida street food guide brings together the local options.
Cost: Pay for what you order, plus transport. Prices vary by outlet, so check the menu before deciding how much to share.
Contact: This is a suggested outing across public markets, rather than a single organised event. Contact your chosen outlet directly to confirm its hours, menu or seating.
