Looking for an outing with a younger sibling or child this weekend? Bookaroo’s children’s literature festival is scheduled at Sunder Nursery, Nizamuddin, on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 11 AM to 4:30 PM on both days.
The venue’s announcement lists storytelling, book readings, art and craft, and nature and history walks. For families travelling from Noida or Greater Noida, the useful distinction is cost: Bookaroo sessions are free, but entry to Sunder Nursery is ticketed.
What is planned?
Bookaroo Trust describes the event as Delhi’s 18th edition. Sunder Nursery’s festival announcement lists 58 sessions, with spaces including the Kahani Tree, Doodle Wall and Illustrators’ Quarter.
The programme is primarily for children aged 4–14, although some sessions are marked for all ages. Choose activities by age and interest before setting off. This is a children’s festival, so accompanying adults should check which sessions welcome them.
A Sunday option for readers interested in illustration
The organiser’s programme booklet lists Illustrating for Children on Sunday, October 4, from 12:45 PM to 1:30 PM at the Kahani Tree. The all-ages session features Carla Haslbauer, Kripa and Pakhi, moderated by Ruchira Das, discussing how words become pictures.
For other activities, use the official programme filters to select the date, age group, location and time. Plan around a few sessions rather than trying to cover the entire programme.
What will entry cost?
Bookaroo’s booklet says sessions admit visitors on a first-come, first-seated basis. Free admission does not guarantee a seat.
Sunder Nursery’s published park-entry rates are ₹50 for Indian/SAARC adults, ₹25 for Indian children aged 5–12, and free entry for children under five. Foreign tourists are listed at ₹200. Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
One Indian adult accompanying one Indian child aged 5–12 would therefore pay ₹75 at the published rates. Transport, parking, food and book purchases are additional. Confirm any event-day changes before travelling.
Getting there from Noida and Greater Noida
Sunder Nursery is near Humayun’s Tomb in Nizamuddin. Its visitor information lists Supreme Court station on the Blue Line and JLN Stadium, Jangpura and Khan Market on the Violet Line as Metro options, with an auto ride for the final stretch.
Compare the full journey from your starting point, including the last connection. If driving, allow for parking charges.
Before leaving home
- Check the selected day’s programme and the age range for each session.
- Arrive ahead of your chosen session because seating is first-come, first-seated.
- Keep children with their accompanying adult. The organiser says parents, guardians and carers remain responsible for them.
- Tell a volunteer or staff member if you do not want to be included in session photographs or filming.
