Noida is getting its own AC electric bus service, and the timeline is now firm.
According to the CEO of Noida Authority, an AC electric bus trial is set to begin within two weeks. The service will cover five routes connecting key points across Noida and Greater Noida, including a direct link to Noida International Airport at Jewar. Eight double decker buses will be part of the initial fleet.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh has also confirmed that the public transport network will be strengthened before June 15, 2026, directly timed to coincide with the airport’s commercial operations launch.
For daily commuters, office-goers and residents travelling to and from the airport, this is among the most practical and directly useful transport announcements Noida has seen this year.
What Is This Service and Who Is Running It
This is Noida Authority’s own AC electric city bus service, distinct from the GNIDA e-bus fleet and the earlier 50-bus infrastructure plan.
As Pulse of Noida has reported, GNIDA has already approved 15 e-buses to connect Greater Noida with Noida Airport. This new service adds another layer: a city-wide electric bus network covering multiple corridors within Noida and Greater Noida, with air-conditioned buses and double decker options.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced 110 electric buses in the first phase for airport connectivity, with a larger plan of 500 e-buses for Noida, Greater Noida and the YEIDA area in the pipeline.
The 5 Routes: Where Each Bus Will Go
All five routes originate from Sector 90 Depot / Botanical Garden as the starting point.
Route 1
Sector 90 Depot / Botanical Garden to Kisan Chowk, Ek Murti, Greater Noida
Serves the Noida-Greater Noida corridor, connecting residential and commercial sectors to Greater Noida’s central nodes.
Route 2
Sector 90 Depot / Botanical Garden to Noida International Airport, Jewar
The most significant route for the region. This will provide a direct, affordable AC bus connection from central Noida to the upcoming airport, which begins commercial operations from June 15.
Route 3
Sector 90 Depot / Botanical Garden to Sector 62
Covers Noida’s IT and office corridor, one of the highest-traffic commuter zones in the city.
Route 4
Sector 90 Depot / Botanical Garden to Phase 2 Noida, Surajpur Collectorate, Greater Noida
Connects Noida’s residential Phase 2 to the Surajpur administrative hub in Greater Noida, useful for residents dealing with government offices.
Route 5: Regional Connectivity
These buses will also connect to Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and ISBT, extending the network into Delhi and beyond for intercity commuters.
What Will the Fares Be
Likely fares as shared by CEO Noida:
| Route / Destination | Likely Fare |
|---|---|
| Within Noida main city | ₹10 |
| Pari Chowk, Greater Noida | ₹20 |
| Jewar (Noida International Airport) | ₹30 |
These fares make the airport route particularly accessible. At ₹30, a commuter can reach the airport from central Noida on an AC bus, which is significantly more affordable than cab or auto options.
The Bigger Infrastructure Picture
This bus launch is part of a larger green mobility push by the Uttar Pradesh government ahead of the airport opening.
The UP government has set a target of 10,000 EV charging stations across the state by 2030, with around 2,500 already operational. The electric bus fleet for Noida sits within this wider framework of making the airport zone and its surroundings a model for sustainable urban transport.
As Pulse of Noida reported earlier, the Noida Authority had already outlined a 50-bus plan with routes, depot locations and commuter benefits. The new announcement moves that from plan to imminent action, with a trial now just two weeks away.
What This Means for Noida Commuters
For residents, the practical takeaways are clear:
- An affordable AC bus to the airport will be available from launch — ₹30 from central Noida
- Double decker buses will add capacity and a new commuter experience to Noida’s roads
- The Sector 62 IT corridor, Greater Noida and ISBT connections make this a genuinely city-wide network, not just an airport shuttle
- The trial period beginning before June 15 means the service should be running when the airport opens
For a city that has long discussed electric mobility and green transport as aspirations, the bus trial represents a concrete step with a firm date attached.
Noida International Airport begins commercial flights from June 15. The bus service is being built to match that timeline.
