No Fuel Without Valid PUCC From October 1: What Noida Motorists Should Check

CAQM’s fuelling restriction is due to take effect across the NCR on October 1. Noida motorists can check their PUCC now, while local pump arrangements remain unconfirmed.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has issued a direction restricting the fuelling of vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) across the National Capital Region from October 1, 2026. That includes Noida and Greater Noida. The rule is scheduled to take effect on that date; it is not a restriction already in force today.

For motorists, the useful step before October 1 is to check whether their vehicle’s PUCC remains valid. The government’s official PUCC certificate service provides a route to check the certificate record.

What CAQM has confirmed

CAQM Direction 101 sets the NCR-wide fuelling restriction from October 1, 2026. A later official implementation review discusses automatic number plate recognition systems at fuel and CNG stations for enforcing the direction.

That review describes preparations. It does not establish that every pump in Noida or Greater Noida already has an operational checking system.

What to do before your next fuel stop

  • Check the validity date on your vehicle’s PUCC.
  • Check the certificate record through the official government service if you need to confirm it.
  • Resolve an expired or incorrect record before the October 1 start date rather than waiting until you reach a fuel station.

The exact process local pumps will follow, including how a database mismatch will be handled, has not been confirmed in PON’s verification. PON will add those instructions only when the responsible authority or fuel operators establish them.
