A big step for Noida is almost here. The new international airport at Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar, is close to opening after a recent on-site review by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The visit, joined by senior officials and the Noida Authority team, signals the final phase of a massive project set to change how the region travels.

The airport is being built by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, part of Zurich Airport International AG, under a public-private partnership. In its first phase, it will cover 1,300 hectares, with one runway and a terminal designed for 12 million passengers a year. Ten major cities—Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and others—will be directly connected, easing pressure on Delhi’s IGI Airport.

The inauguration is planned for October 30, 2025, with commercial flights expected by year-end. Over time, the project will expand across 5,000 hectares to serve 70 million passengers annually by 2040. This means more jobs, stronger local business, and faster access for travelers and entrepreneurs.

For Noida’s people, it’s more than just convenience—it’s a sign of growth, connectivity, and new opportunity taking flight.
