Noida International Airport in Jewar has announced a partnership with The ePlane Company to explore the infrastructure and operating arrangements needed for future electric vertical take-off and landing, or eVTOL, services.

The ePlane Company says the collaboration is intended to prepare for electric air taxis and air ambulances in Delhi-NCR. The partnership announcements do not specify passenger routes, fares or a service launch date.

The airport, which began commercial passenger operations in June 2026, described the collaboration as part of its long-term plan to connect different modes of transport and expand mobility options for passengers and communities.

What is planned at the airport?

In its public update, The ePlane Company said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Noida International Airport.

According to the company, the partnership includes allocating space within the airport for vertiports, charging stations and early drone trials. Vertiports are facilities for aircraft that take off and land vertically.

The partners also intend to develop systems for managing these facilities and adapt airport operating procedures to accommodate eVTOL services.

The company said it is working with aviation, security and air traffic authorities on safety arrangements and the integration of these aircraft into the airspace.

These are the partners’ stated plans. The announcements do not establish that the proposed facilities are complete or that passenger eVTOL services have been approved.

What is an eVTOL aircraft?

An eVTOL is an electrically powered aircraft designed to take off and land vertically. The technology is being developed for applications including short-distance passenger travel and medical transport.

The ePlane Company is developing the e200X aircraft. Its website describes the full-scale e200X PT-01 prototype as undergoing ground testing.

What does this mean for Noida residents?

For people in Noida, Greater Noida and the wider NCR, the partnership concerns a possible future transport option. It does not yet provide a passenger service that residents can book or include in an airport journey.

The practical details still to be announced are the launch date, routes, landing locations, fares and booking arrangements. The partnership announcements do not confirm how much time or money any particular journey would save.

PON is also following a separate proposal for rail access to the airport. Read our explainer on the proposed Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor for that project’s context.
