A proposed public digital library in Sector 52 could give Noida’s students and readers another space to access books, prepare for examinations and use digital learning resources.

According to reported project details, Noida Authority plans to develop the library in Block B, with seating for around 300 people. The proposal combines reading facilities with a dedicated computer section.

Books, examination resources and digital access

The planned collection would include books across subjects and material for competitive examinations, entrance tests and recruitment exams.

In reported remarks, SP Singh, general manager (Civil), Noida Authority, said the library would provide a separate computer section with internet access and digital content.

The proposed facilities also include printers, a seminar room, a cafeteria, air conditioning, drinking water and security arrangements. CCTV surveillance and landscaped outdoor areas are part of the reported plan.

Free student entry proposed

Students are expected to receive free entry under the proposed arrangement. However, the final rules for access, operation and management remain to be settled.

Singh has described plans to appoint an operator through a corporate social responsibility initiative, using the Coforge Public Library in Sector 59 as a reference for the intended model.

The reported project update says the architectural design has been finalised and a construction tender issued. This does not establish that construction has started or that the library is available for public use.

Residents raise parking and traffic concerns

The proposal has also prompted questions about its effect on the surrounding neighbourhood.

In reported comments, Sector 52 resident Ashok Sharma raised concerns about parking, traffic, security, crowding and cleanliness if the library attracts substantial numbers of visitors from outside the sector.

These issues would need consideration alongside the building’s reading and learning facilities.
