Noida Metro Rail Corporation has introduced two new ticketing options for Aqua Line passengers: digital QR ticket booking through WhatsApp and an NCMC-featured SBI NMRC City1 MTS card.
NMRC’s official website currently highlights both services. Pulse of Noida also tested the live WhatsApp ticketing service on August 16, 2026 and confirmed that passengers can start the process by messaging “Hi” to 9599030188. The service then opens an NMRC booking interface where users can select stations and journey options.
There is, however, an important caveat around the new card. Although NMRC describes it as an NCMC-featured NMRC MTS Card, the currently published primary material reviewed by Pulse of Noida does not establish that this specific card can already be used across every metro or public-transport network in India.

What is the Noida Metro WhatsApp ticket number?
The official number published by NMRC for digital QR ticket booking is:
9599030188
Passengers need to send “Hi” to this number on WhatsApp to begin.
Pulse of Noida tested the number on August 16 and received the NMRC ticketing response.
Passengers should use the number published by NMRC rather than phone numbers circulated through forwarded messages, social-media posts or unofficial websites.
How to book a Noida Metro ticket on WhatsApp
Pulse of Noida tested the live NMRC WhatsApp service on August 16, 2026.
The current booking journey works as follows:
- Open WhatsApp and message “Hi” to 9599030188.
- The NMRC chat responds with a welcome message and a “Book Now” option.
- Tap “Book Now” to open NMRC’s ticket-booking interface inside WhatsApp.
- Select your From station.
- Select your To station.
- Choose the journey type displayed by the interface.
- Select the required number of passengers and proceed with the booking.
During PON’s test, the interface displayed Single, Group and Return journey options.
The initial booking screen showed ₹0 before the origin and destination were selected. This should not be interpreted as a zero-fare journey. No fare had yet been established at that stage of PON’s test.
Pulse of Noida verified that Single, Group and Return options are displayed in the interface. PON did not complete purchases under all three categories, so this article does not claim that transactions for every journey type were independently completed.
What else can commuters access through NMRC WhatsApp?
The service is not limited to the initial ticket-booking screen.
During PON’s test, the Links section of the NMRC interface displayed access to:
- Do’s and Don’ts
- Station Details
- NMRC Parking Details
- Helpline Details
- AFC Penalty
This gives commuters a way to reach several practical NMRC information sections through the same WhatsApp-based interface.
Pulse of Noida verified that these links were displayed. Their individual contents and whether every item is updated in real time were not separately audited for this story.
For residents who regularly use the corridor, PON’s guide to how the Aqua Line connects Noida and Greater Noida provides broader route and connectivity context.
What is the new NCMC-featured NMRC card?
Along with WhatsApp QR ticketing, NMRC is highlighting an SBI NCMC-featured NMRC MTS Card.
NMRC’s official launch graphic shows an orange card carrying SBI, NMRC, City1 and RuPay branding.
SBI’s current NMRC City1 documentation separately describes an MTS, or Mass Transit System, City1 Card.
According to SBI, a passenger seeking the City1 MTS Card should:
- Visit a Noida Metro station and request the City1 MTS Card at the ticket counter
- Provide a mobile number
- Complete OTP verification
- Load money onto the card for use
SBI describes an MTS card as a specific category of prepaid card intended for payments across public-transport use cases.
Where can you get the SBI NMRC City1 MTS Card?
SBI’s current instructions direct passengers to a Noida Metro station ticket counter to obtain the City1 MTS Card.
The MTS application procedure published by SBI asks the passenger to provide a mobile number. An OTP is then generated and, after validation, money can be loaded onto the card.
SBI’s broader City1 product page currently lists the card as available at Noida Metro stations.
How much does the NMRC City1 card cost?
SBI’s current City1 product page lists a ₹100 card issuance fee for the SBI NMRC City1 Card, along with other charges and limits.
However, the same page now contains separate instructions for obtaining an MTS City1 Card and does not clearly present a separate fee schedule specifically labelled for the newly highlighted NCMC-featured NMRC MTS variant.
For that reason, Pulse of Noida is not treating ₹100 as independently confirmed specifically for the new NCMC-featured MTS variant.
Passengers obtaining the new card should confirm the current issuance and recharge charges at an NMRC station or through SBI before payment.
Does the Noida Metro NCMC card work across every metro in India?
Passengers should not assume that it does.
NCMC is designed to support interoperable payments at transport systems where compatible NCMC infrastructure is enabled.
SBI’s separate Nation First Transit Card, for example, is described by the bank as being usable at NCMC-enabled metro stations and other enabled transit systems.
But that general NCMC capability does not by itself establish that the newly promoted NMRC City1 MTS Card is currently accepted across every metro or public-transport network.
SBI’s specific NMRC City1 product page currently says:
The City1 card is currently usable at Noida Metro only for transit purpose.
The same SBI page also now provides instructions for obtaining an MTS City1 Card.
Pulse of Noida is therefore not stating that this particular card can already be used across all metro systems in India.
For Aqua Line commuters, the officially confirmed development is narrower: SBI and NMRC have introduced an NCMC-featured NMRC MTS card carrying City1 branding.
Residents travelling onward towards Delhi can also see PON’s guide to Noida-to-Delhi metro and travel options.
What about existing SBI NMRC City1 cards?
SBI continues to maintain its existing NMRC City1 Card product information for travel on the Noida-Greater Noida Metro.
What the publicly available launch material does not clearly establish is whether an existing City1 card automatically acquires the newly promoted NCMC functionality.
It also does not clearly explain whether existing cardholders need:
- A replacement card
- An upgrade
- A separate MTS card
- No action at all
Existing City1 users should therefore confirm the status of their particular card with NMRC or SBI rather than assuming that an older card automatically has the same functionality as the newly introduced NCMC-featured MTS card.
Does NMRC still offer other ticketing options?
Yes. WhatsApp is an additional digital ticketing channel, not the only way to travel on the Aqua Line.
NMRC already maintains passenger ticketing and smart-card facilities, while its official website provides journey planning, fares, card recharge and other commuter information.
The new WhatsApp option is useful because passengers can now begin the digital QR-ticket process directly from a service many already use on their phones.
What Aqua Line commuters can safely rely on now
For passengers deciding whether to use the new facilities, the confirmed position is straightforward.
WhatsApp ticketing:
Passengers can message “Hi” to 9599030188, tap “Book Now”, choose their stations and proceed through NMRC’s ticket-booking interface.
Journey options:
PON’s live test found Single, Group and Return options displayed in the interface.
NCMC-featured card:
NMRC and SBI have introduced an NCMC-featured NMRC MTS Card carrying City1 branding.
Getting the MTS card:
SBI currently directs passengers to Noida Metro station ticket counters.
Nationwide interoperability:
PON has not confirmed that this specific card is currently accepted across every Indian metro or transport network.
Existing City1 cards:
The published material does not clearly establish whether older cards automatically gain the new NCMC functionality.
Passengers following future Metro connectivity can also read what commuters should know about the planned Aqua Line extensions.

What PON will track next
Pulse of Noida will update this guide when NMRC or SBI publishes clearer information on:
- Acceptance of the NMRC MTS card on other NCMC-enabled transport networks
- Whether it works on Delhi Metro and other NCR transit systems
- Treatment of existing City1 cards
- Any migration, replacement or upgrade process
- Charges specifically applicable to the newly introduced NCMC-featured MTS variant
- Detailed validity and payment rules for WhatsApp QR tickets
Until then, passengers should not infer nationwide acceptance solely from the NCMC branding.
