Resident note: This is a developing guide. Flight schedules, public transport access and parking details may change during the first few days of airport operations.
Noida International Airport at Jewar began commercial flight operations on Monday, 15 June 2026, marking a major aviation and infrastructure milestone for Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna City and western Uttar Pradesh.
The first scheduled IndiGo flight, 6E-2278, arrived from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport around 8 am. Earlier official updates had listed the arrival time as 8.05 am. The aircraft received a traditional water cannon salute on arrival and was scheduled to continue onward to Bengaluru, landing there at 11.05 am.
For many residents of Greater Noida, the Yamuna Expressway belt and parts of Noida, this is the first morning with a working commercial airport significantly closer than IGI Delhi, depending on route, flight availability and traffic conditions.

The Farmers Who Flew First
One detail from today deserves to be read separately.
PTI reported that 172 farmers from Jewar villages were part of the inaugural journey, accompanied by Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, in recognition of their role in contributing land for the airport project. Some other reports have put the number at around 170 farmers.
For residents of Jewar and surrounding villages, the airport is not only a transport project. It is tied to land, livelihoods, compensation and a long wait for visible economic change.
One farmer, speaking to PTI at the airport this morning, called it “a proud moment” and expressed hope that the airport would bring development to the region.

More airlines and cities are expected in the coming weeks. This section will be updated as confirmed.
How to Reach Noida International Airport
For the first phase of operations, residents should treat airport access as a road-first journey. Direct metro connectivity is not yet operational, and public bus services to the airport are still being confirmed for specific timings.
By Cab or Private Vehicle
Cab and private vehicle access are expected to remain the most reliable options for airport travel in the first phase, especially for early morning or late evening flights.
Indicative Road Travel Times
Add 15 to 30 minutes during peak hours or on first-time airport visits.
| Origin | Likely Route | Approximate Time |
|---|---|---|
| Noida Sector 18 / City Centre | Yamuna Expressway | 45 to 55 minutes |
| Noida Sector 62 | NH-9 to Yamuna Expressway | 50 to 60 minutes |
| Greater Noida West, Gaur City / Techzone | Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Yamuna Expressway | 35 to 45 minutes |
| Pari Chowk, Greater Noida | Yamuna Expressway | 25 to 35 minutes |
| South Delhi, Sarita Vihar / Jasola | Yamuna Expressway | 60 to 75 minutes |
| Ghaziabad, Vaishali / Indirapuram | NH-9 to Noida to Yamuna Expressway | 60 to 70 minutes |
Cab Fares, Indicative Only
Cab fares will vary sharply by time, demand, pickup point and app availability. Check your cab app before leaving.
| Origin | Indicative One-Way Cab Fare |
|---|---|
| Noida Sector 18 | Around ₹600 to ₹900 |
| Greater Noida West | Around ₹500 to ₹750 |
Passengers should book a cab at least 30 to 45 minutes before their planned departure from home, especially for early morning flights.
By AC Electric Bus
The new AC electric city bus fleet has been launched for Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna City connectivity. The route map includes Noida International Airport, Jewar as a destination from Botanical Garden / Sector 90.
However, passengers should be careful.
Before depending on the e-bus for a flight, confirm:
- Whether the airport-bound route is operational that day
- Exact boarding point
- First bus timing
- Last bus timing
- Expected travel time
- Whether the bus reaches the passenger terminal or only a nearby airport stop
Important: Do not rely only on the e-bus for a flight unless you have confirmed the route and timing for that day. Keep a cab or private vehicle as backup, especially during the first few days of operations.

By Metro and Bus
There is no direct metro line to Noida International Airport currently.
For residents who want to use public transport, the practical option may be:
- Take the Blue Line metro to Botanical Garden
- Check whether the airport-bound AC electric bus is running at the required time
- Board the bus only after confirming route and timing
- Keep a cab backup if travelling for a flight
Future metro connectivity to Noida International Airport has been planned, but it is not operational yet. Timelines will depend on updates from YEIDA and the relevant metro authorities.
Parking at the Airport
Official parking charges and capacity details should be confirmed with the airport before travel.
If you are driving to the airport during the first few days, allow extra time for:
- Airport entry road navigation
- Drop-off point identification
- Parking location
- Security checks
- Terminal orientation
Pulse of Noida will update this section once official parking details are released or confirmed.
What to Expect at the Terminal
Noida International Airport is operating its Phase 1 terminal. First-time visitors should realistically expect:
- Fewer gates and airlines than IGI Delhi, as this is Phase 1
- Shorter check-in queues initially, given lower passenger volume at launch
- Standard CISF security procedures
- Arrival at least 90 minutes before domestic departure
- Limited food and retail in the early phase
- Extra orientation time at the new terminal
For the first few days, the safest approach is simple: leave early, confirm flight status, check route conditions and keep extra time in hand.
What Comes Next

What Residents Should Check Before Leaving Home
Before travelling to Noida International Airport, residents should check:
- Flight status on the airline app
- Terminal reporting time
- Cab availability
- Bus route and timing, if using public transport
- FASTag balance if driving via Yamuna Expressway
- Airport parking details, if taking a private vehicle
- Weather and traffic updates
- ID proof and booking confirmation
Residents travelling from Noida, Greater Noida West or Ghaziabad should also account for traffic variations on connecting roads before reaching the Yamuna Expressway.
