Noida Authority has proposed upgrading two important road stretches into “model roads” to improve traffic movement and public convenience. The proposals cover a section of DSC Road from the irrigation drain to Kulesara Bridge and another stretch from the Sector 79 T-Point to DSC Road.

The proposals have not yet received final approval, and Noida Authority has not announced the start of construction.. According to Noida Authority, proposals prepared by the consultant have been sent to the competent level for in-principle approval. The combined proposed cost is about ₹25.54 crore.

At a glance

  • DSC Road stretch: Irrigation drain to Kulesara Bridge
  • Proposed cost: ₹1,496.56 lakh, or about ₹14.97 crore
  • Second stretch: Sector 79 T-Point to DSC Road
  • Proposed cost: ₹1,057.14 lakh, or about ₹10.57 crore
  • Combined proposed cost: About ₹25.54 crore
  • Current status: Consultant proposals sent for in-principle approval
  • Construction status: No construction start announced
  • Tender issued: Not confirmed
  • Target after approval: Completion within six months

The six-month period should not be read as a confirmed completion date from now. Noida Authority has said the target applies after approval is received

Why DSC Road matters for daily traffic

The Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera, or DSC, Road is an important movement corridor through this part of Noida. According to Noida Authority, it connects industrial, commercial and residential areas including NSEZ, Phase II, Sectors 80 and 81 and the Hosiery Complex.

The Authority says thousands of residents, office-goers, workers and heavy and light vehicles use the route every day.

The section between the irrigation drain and Kulesara Bridge is particularly busy. Noida Authority said its inspection found that traffic coming from the elevated road adds to congestion on this stretch, especially during morning and evening peak periods.

Traffic involving industrial and freight movement is also a wider planning issue for the city. Pulse of Noida has previously explained how Noida’s proposed City Logistics Plan is intended to study truck movement, freight routes, loading areas and other logistics-related pressure on city roads.

What exactly is being proposed?

For the irrigation drain-to-Kulesara Bridge stretch, Noida Authority has given a proposed cost of ₹1,496.56 lakh, equivalent to approximately ₹14.97 crore.

For the Sector 79 T-Point-to-DSC Road stretch, the proposed amount is ₹1,057.14 lakh, or approximately ₹10.57 crore.

Together, the two figures amount to approximately ₹25.54 crore.

These figures should currently be treated as proposed project costs, not as sanctioned expenditure. The Authority’s communication says the consultant’s proposals have been forwarded for in-principle approval.

Noida Authority has said the broader objective is to improve traffic management, civic convenience and the condition of these road corridors.

However, the official information reviewed by Pulse of Noida does not yet provide a detailed item-by-item scope showing exactly what physical work will be undertaken on each stretch.

That means details such as specific carriageway changes, pedestrian facilities, junction redesign, drainage work, landscaping or other road elements should not be assumed until the Authority releases the approved scope.

Has the project been approved?

Not yet, based on the official information currently available.

The status can be understood in this order:

Consultant proposal prepared → sent for in-principle approval → approval awaited

There is currently no official confirmation reviewed by Pulse of Noida showing that:

  • final approval has been granted
  • the proposed amounts have become sanctioned project budgets
  • a construction tender has been issued
  • a contractor has been selected
  • physical construction has started

This distinction is important because an infrastructure proposal can still change in scope, cost or timeline before work begins.

What does the six-month timeline mean?

Noida Authority has stated that, once approval is received, it aims to complete the work over the following six months.

This is therefore a project target linked to future approval, not a confirmed six-month countdown beginning in August 2026.

A firmer delivery timeline would normally become clearer once approvals are completed and the procurement or work-order process advances.

What residents should watch next

For commuters using DSC Road and the Sector 79 side, the next meaningful milestone is not construction yet. It is formal approval of the proposals.

The key developments to watch are:

  1. in-principle and subsequent project approval
  2. final scope and detailed cost
  3. tender publication
  4. contractor selection and work order
  5. start of physical work
  6. traffic diversions during construction
  7. revised completion target after work begins

Pulse of Noida will update the status when Noida Authority publishes the next formal project milestone.

Bottom line

Noida Authority is planning model-road upgrades for the DSC Road stretch between the irrigation drain and Kulesara Bridge and for the Sector 79 T-Point-to-DSC Road link.

The two proposals carry a combined estimated cost of approximately ₹25.54 crore and are intended to address traffic and civic-infrastructure issues on these busy corridors.

But residents should not read this as a construction announcement yet. The consultant proposals are currently awaiting in-principle approval. The Authority’s six-month completion target applies only after approval is received.
